The Mason Public Schools Board of Education meets on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Mason City Hall (201 W. Ash Street, Mason) to oversee the district's budget, policies, curriculum, facilities, and the hiring and evaluation of the superintendent.

The Mason City Council meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Mason City Hall (201 W. Ash Street, Mason) to discuss and vote on city business, including budgets, ordinances, development projects, appointments, and other matters affecting the community.

Founded in 2021 as Mason's first Pride celebration and hosted each June in partnership with Bad Brewing and the Salus Center. The weekend begins with a fundraising drag performance (21+), followed by a family-friendly Picnic at Rayner Park with local music, art, vendors, and activities for all ages.
